UMBRO Velocita³ – Concept Kit

Exclusive Mockups for Branding and Packaging Design

As part of the recent release of the new UMBRO Velocita³, we have teamed up with UMBRO to deliver a specific concept kit based on their newest updated Velocita!

We’ve incorporated the Dawn Blue, Carbon and Fiery Red colouring of the boot into the kit; while adding the subtle detail of the “Don’t Get Caught” zigzag arrowing. The idea behind the “Don’t Get Caught” is the simple objective for any attacking player who needs to be fleet-footed on the pitch and quick-thinking with their decision-making in order to make their mark on the game. It’s not just about quick feet, but the mental agility to go with it so you can react to any situation, bamboozle your opponent and find that moment of space in the game to make a real difference.

Don’t Get Caught is also the philosophy behind the Velocita³, the latest evolution in Umbro’s speed boot silo. The new Velocita³ football boot offers comfort and fit through a special tri-layer construction on the upper, combined with an outsole designed to offer traction, agility and acceleration, to deliver a speed boot for people who don’t just want to run in straight lines.

We’re sure West Ham United’s Michail Antonio would look pretty sharp wearing this concept kit on the football field! Maybe UMBRO might release it to the public!!

The UMBRO Velocita³ both HG (£135 RRP) and SG (£140 RRP) models are available to buy from Monday 21st November from umbro.co.uk and prodirectsoccer.com

“DON’T GET CAUGHT” The New VELOCITA³ By UMBRO

Multi-Directional Speed Evolves With The Velocita³

l_690640

Don’t Get Caught – the simple objective for any attacking player who needs to be fleet-footed on the pitch and quick-thinking with their decision-making in order to make their mark on the game.

Multi-directional speed is the ultimate aim of the Don’t Get Caught philosophy, something the Velocita³ offers in a lightweight boot that will keep the wearer comfortable and confident. We’re not saying that the Velocita³ will turn you into a world beater overnight – but it will help to make the most of the skills you’ve got.

The idea behind Don’t Get Caught has also been captured in a film accompanying the release of the boot, where amateur players from the University of Salford’s football team are challenged to show their speed of thought and physical prowess.

They do so in the Don’t Get Caught Challenge, a specially-constructed game zone that throws together playground classic British Bulldogs, dodgeball and high-intensity football training drills in a challenge that would test any player.

Salford City co-manager Anthony Johnson is on hand to put the players through their paces, before the best of the bunch face West Ham United’s Michail Antonio in a final competition to find an ultimate winner of the Don’t Get Caught Challenge.

West Ham United attacker Antonio – a player who perfectly captures the Don’t Get Caught philosophy with his combination of speed, strength and unpredictability – will be one of the first players to debut the Velocita³ on the pitch. Speaking about the boot, Michail said:

‘I’ve been looking forward to wearing this boot ever since the guys at Umbro first showed it to me – it looks great, is really comfortable to wear and lets me play the game how I like to. I like to think that I’m an unpredictable player and the Velocita³ helps to give me the confidence to try things on the pitch.

“I absolutely loved being involved in the video as well – the challenges are a brilliant way to test your quick reactions and ability – I’d love to give this a go in our training sessions!’

The Velocita³ boot has a number of features designed to offer the multi-directional speed demanded by the Don’t Get Caught philosophy.

These include:

  • Neoprene mesh in the rearfoot and airmesh in the forefoot provide a responsive fit and comfort

  • Heat-welded cage in the mid-foot area develops Umbro’s A-frame design to offer support and stability, reducing excess foot movement

  • TPU outer skin ensures maximum durability and a close touch sensation on the ball

  • Umbro’s speed outsole offers agility, traction and acceleration thanks to a unique combination of conical and diamond-shaped studs

  • Three-layer design is showcased in an eye-catching Dawn Blue / Carbon / Fiery Red / Spectra Green launch colourway

The new Velocita³ boot is launched in a Dawn Blue / Carbon / Fiery Red / Spectra Green colourway, with further updates to come in early 2017.

The new Everton away strip is a modern design inspired by two colours from one of Everton’s most historic kits – the striking dark navy and salmon trim strip is a nod to the 1890/91 season when the Toffee’s captured their first ever league crown.

[slideshow_deploy id=’3851’]

The lightweight jersey is predominantly dark navy with a salmon colour on the inside layer offering a striking visual contrast. The eye-catching salmon also features on the cuffs and V-neck part rib collar.

Diamond mesh technology on the main body of the shirt aids breathability, along with under-arm panels aid ventilation and movement.

Accompanying the jersey, the dark navy shorts have a tailored silhouette with a reduced volume waistband offering optimum comfort and fit. Contrast back detailing in salmon features alongside the Club and Umbro logos.

The dark navy socks feature a contrast salmon hoop and Umbro logo with a cotton footbed provides optimum comfort for 90 minutes and beyond.

Like this season’s home strip, the away shirt celebrates the Club’s historic ground and includes the co-ordinates of Goodison Park inside the neck of the shirt.

The iconic signature of Archibald Leitch’s criss-cross architectural design also features, with Umbro including a Leitch-style graphic above the co-ordinates, so fans and players will have a piece of home with them wherever they go.

Speaking about the new away strip, Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu said: “I feel very confident in this kit and cannot wait for the new season to be able to wear it. The design is nice and I really like it. Deulofeu jokingly added: “I hope to see the fans with my name on their shirts next season!”

Everton’s 2016/17 away kit is available to pre-order now* in men’s, women’s, juniors, infants and babies’ sizes. It will go on sale on 22nd July.

Kit News | UMBRO SPECIAL

The Double Diamond company have recently released some tidy new stripes ahead of each team respective leagues! We’ve taken liberty on some of the freshest and arguably some of the nicest released of all the major brands!

With UMBRO, they treat each kit as a separate design; they avoid the stock design look we’re now custom to with the other larger brands. Stock design, changed with the team crest and colouring. No specific detailing, no emotion, no thought process…

First up; and arguably our favourite…

PSV Eindhoven

Eredivisie Champions PSV Eindhoven’s home and away kits for the upcoming 2016/17 season

The iconic red and white stripes are forever a main stay for the Dutch club and the home strip for 2016/17 edition is no different.

It’s the first strip that without the club’s founding company Philips; making way for Energiedirect.nl and it works quite well! No bold look or silly logos. Just a nice standard text, keeping the look slick and tidy. This is what UMBRO  do very well. Classic looks that seem timeless.

Our focus though was quickly turned to the away strip. A classy navy on blue work great and keep the look a solid no messing around design. Again; the Energiedirect.nl logo works very well and the change over again is seamless and looks as if the club have had the Dutch company on board for many a season.

Nice job PSV!

Let’s see if they can retain their Eredivisie title, however maybe not so last minute, like last season!

WEST HAM FC

A massive move to the London Olympic Stadium may put pressure on some players/staff but the design process is the same for UMBRO. Tailored class with a touch of claret and blue throughout. Fans have waited excitedly over the new club badge and it’s a beaut. Simple, elegant with keeping with their past history of being one of England’s established clubs.

EVERTON FC

Club captain Phil Jagielka says it all really. A great traditional kit with no silly looks or efforts to be something it’s not. Classic club kit.

“I love the detail of having the co-ordinates on the neck of the shirt.  There’s nothing like playing at Goodison Park in front of our passionate fans and knowing you are following in the footsteps of some of the greatest footballers in the world. The nod to the stadium and its history in the kit is a great touch.”

“Shocking Orange” Umbro Speciali Eternal

Umbro Speciali Eternal “Shocking Orange”

Umbro have gone from one extreme with the Blackout Speciali to a complete polar opposite with the latest Speciali “Shocking Orange”! It’s a bold move! But yet quite pleasing that a classic boot such as the Speciali can hold up a crazy colourway with ease!

The Speciali has been reborn last year with the original Speciali relaunch with a modern update of soft leather and wishbone outsole… Whilst Umbro has remained true to its classic design, the Speciali Eternal isn’t simply a reproduction of the original, but has been re-engineered to meet the more demanding performance needs of the modern game and it’s very refreshing that a simple classic just needs a new colourway rather than a “must have” gimmick that is quickly forgotten!

We’re completely on board!

UMBRO DROP VELOCITA ‘BLACKOUT’ UPDATE

1516_Umbro98150

Speed, distance and time. Three of the factors which subconsciously affect a player’s performance on the field.

This equation has inspired the triangular design on Umbro’s latest Velocita colourway. The subtle patterned design on the all-black boot is the latest update for a boot which has turned plenty of heads since its release earlier this year.

Weighing just 165 grams, the Umbro Velocita is one of the lightest football boots on the market.

The outsole is built for ‘fast’ speed in all directions, improving agility by mimicking natural foot motion and traction with a unique Umbro stud configuration.

Other features and benefits of the Velocita include:

  • A super lightweight microfibre upper which is heat welded to reduce stitching and give improved feel of the ball, acting like a second skin
  • Heat-welded ‘A-Frame’ cradle to stabilise and support the foot
  • Flattened laces which mimic runner’s spikes.
  • Internal padding around the Achilles area offers a snug fit and protection and the external heel counter is made of tough yet flexible Pebax® material.
  • A unique outsole configuration improves rotation when moving away from opponents.
  • Single piece outsole means less glue, less layers and less weight.
  • The hot melt and mesh construction on the tongue provides optimum fit and ventilation along with the opportunity for individual adjustment.

The Umbro Velocita Tri-Mess is available now from umbro.co.uk and Pro Direct Soccer priced £130.
