PUMA | Special Edition King Top Colourways – Homage To Host Cities In France

Longest Running Boot to be Released in City Colours of Paris, Marseille, Lyon & Bordeaux

16SS_TS_King Top City Pack_ALL_7

PUMA has released its King Top in four special edition colourways.

The longest serving boot in football gets a special Gallic makeover, inspired by the colours and culture of four of the cities hosting matches over the next month.

A Parisian version has a traditional navy blue colourway with white formstrip in homage to the flamboyant French capital.  The Bordeaux city King Top is an elegant ‘Bordeaux’, inspired by the colours of this famous wine region.  Lyon, a city famous for its ancient history and heritage is represented through the cream and light blue colours that define it; and the Marseille King Top stands out in the blue and silver colours that adorn the coat of arms of this Mediterranean French city.

The King top is a professional football boot used on firm natural surfaces.  The thin, lightweight premium leather offer the player a glove light fit to maximise comfort and ball control, and prolong the life of the boot.  Stability and reactivity are enabled from a conical stud configuration aided by a PU injected bi-density outsole.  The fold over tongue avoids pressure from the ball on the lace knot.

All of these four special edition colourways are available to buy instore and on puma.com/football from today.  Imagery is available on news.puma.com

“PUMA’s longest serving football boot, the King Top, is now available in four different colours, each one paying homage to a city hosting the football fiesta this summer. Get your hands on a pair at prodirectsoccer.com

PUMA launch the latest evoPOWER 1.3

PUMA believe, that in football too much power is never enough, as the global sports brand today introduced the all new evoPOWER 1.3.

The vibrant yellow football boot comes with a complete new outsole and improved upper material that combine to enable even more flexibility of movement for the foot. The new evoPOWER 1.3 will be worn by PUMA’s experts of power, Cesc Fàbregas, Mario Balotelli, Olivier Giroud and Yaya Touré amongst many others.

As with previous boots within PUMA’s evoPOWER family, the new evoPOWER 1.3 is still grounded in the principles of barefoot kicking, and was designed to enhance what the body does naturally. Taking this concept to new levels, the evoPOWER 1.3 now provides even more flexibility through the outsole, which leads to more kicking power.

When creating this new outsole, PUMA focussed on how forces travel from the heel to the forefoot, and from the lateral to medial side of the boot. The improved configuration of bladed and conical studs allows for more manoeuvrability and gives extra stability in the midfoot for the standing leg when kicking. The new evoPOWER 1.3 further features optimal ground penetration in all weather conditions.

An increased amount of AccuFoam in the upper provides a smoother and cleaner kicking surface for more precision when kicking the ball. Finally, the one-way stretchable Adap-Lite upper allows the foot to bend in a way that it mimics a barefoot kicking motion.

Cesc Fàbregas commented on the new boot, “Since the evoPOWER was first launched in 2014, PUMA has managed to improve this great boot even more each year. What I especially like about this version is the stability it gives in matches and training, which helps improve my performance. The new colour is great, it will catch a lot of attention on pitch.”

The all-new evoPOWER 1.3 is available for purchase on puma.com and at global football boot retailers from today.

BAM!! POW! PUMA LAUNCHES POP ART FOOTBALL BOOT

BAM!! POW! PUMA LAUNCHES POP ART FOOTBALL BOOT

PUMA evoPOWER Pop Art Design_3

PUMA have launched the BAM!! POW! evoPOWER 1.2.  Inspired by Pop Art the new boots will be worn by Cesc Fàbregas, Mario Balotelli, Olivier Giroud and Yaya Touré in tonights international friendlies and will certainly not go unnoticed!

PUMA has today introduced one of its most unusual football boots by revealing the new evoPOWER 1.2 colourway inspired by the Pop Art movement. True to the boot’s Power theme, the BAM!! and POW! prints express what the boot does to the game. The new evoPOWER 1.2 football boot with the Pop Art graphics will be worn by Cesc Fàbregas, Mario Balotelli, Olivier Giroud, Yaya Touré and many more players when the international friendly matches kick off later today.

Taking key characteristics from the Pop Art movement that had its roots in the 1950s, the boot features two-dimensional graphics with clear colours, black borders and no depth that look like a comic strip. This new design features PUMA Football’s seasonal colours orange clown fish, electric blue lemonade, and white with details in yellow. Dots are printed all over the heel and partially on the rest of the upper, with additional orange dots being applied to the white laces which gives an extra twist to this football boot.

PUMA Football_evoPOWER_Q4_PR_14

Cesc Fàbregas commented on the new boots, “This time PUMA have really surprised me with the new boots they gave to me and I love the result. The graphics are so cool, and it actually feels like a little piece of art that I can wear on my feet. I look forward to wearing these boots when I play with the Spanish national team against England and Belgium, hopefully some players will be distracted when they see my unusual footwear.”

The evoPOWER 1.2 with all its innovative technologies is made for power and accuracy when kicking the ball.  With the movement of a barefoot in mind, the boot is designed to provide maximum flexibility, which has an increased impact on the shooting power.  The boot’s lightweight and super soft upper material stretches in a longitudinal not lateral direction allowing a freedom of movement while maintaining support.  Accuracy is further improved with the GripTex print that runs across the full length of the upper, providing enhanced ball control in all weather conditions.  Added precision is created through the lightweight AccuFoam lining that provides a clean kicking surface.

The new evoPOWER 1.2 with the Pop Art graphics is available for purchase on puma.com and at global football boot retailers from November 16.

PUMA | evoSPEED SL BRIGHT BLUE

PUMA | evoSPEED SL BRIGHT BLUE

PUMA brings some added excitement to the pitch with the latest evoSPEED SL colourway . The electric blue lemonade, white and orange clown fish coloured boots are made for players that like to stand out through their fast style of play. PUMA evoSPEED players not wearing the new blue and orange Head to Head Duality boots, will move into the new boots today. All other players will wear the duality boot for one more game before going into the new colourway from October 5.

The evoSPEED SL is PUMA’s lightest football boot to date, designed to give footballers a new game advantage by enhancing speed and agility. The radical weight reduction was largely accomplished through the use of a super light, almost translucent textile upper material. Whilst ensuring the necessary stability,  the low weight PUMA SPEEDFRAME adds to the overall lightweight theme of the evoSPEED SL. Further support is given through a minimalistic heel counter, which also provides the foot with a snug fit.

The traction studs support the players’ forward acceleration and enable better ground penetration. Combined with the five conical studs that are placed in the forefront and medial back end of the boot, changes if direction and quick turns are radically improved. The outsole features the raised PUMA SPEEDTRACK spine that further supports torsion when dribbling around opponents.

Marco Verratti commented on the new boots, “I have been playing in the new evoSPEED SL boots for three months, and their low weight still fascinates me every time I put them on. I will wear this new colour when I join the Italian national team in the next round of qualification matches for the Euros 2016, and hopefully they will bring me luck as I would love to help the team qualify.”

The new evoSPEED SL is now available for purchase on puma.com and at global football boot retailers.

Boots: Puma Kings – Lothar Matthaüs Limited Edition

Release: 2015 – Limited to 25 pairs

These boots are very special to me for many reasons and I think they’re one of the classiest pairs produced. It was in July when I had only been off college for a couple of weeks and I was to jet off to Mexico on the 6th for a 2 week holiday. When I was waiting at the airport to bored my flight I thought I’d take one last browse through my personal Instagram account since I wasn’t going to use it for at least another 24 hours. I clicked on my Direct Messages and saw I have one from ProDirectSoccer. I assumed that it would be to feature a picture from my account or something but I couldn’t be any more wrong. This is what I was presented with…

At first I couldn’t believe what I’d read and I was so excited and couldn’t wait to pick them up, and then reality sunk in, I was about to head to the other side of the world and thought that this was it. Someone else would get selected instead. So I replied to them explaining the situation and suggested a friend picked them up as the invite was for two. I then turned my phone off and that was it until I somehow picked up a wifi connection in Mexico. When I finally got there and got a connection, I got a reply from them saying that my solution was a good one and then agreed to give them to my friend. It wasn’t then until mid August when I finally got them and the wait was worth it 100%.

The boots themselves are stunning, composed of white and black leather with gold trims and lettering makes them look fantastic. These Lothar Matthaüs boots were produced to celebrate his fantastic career as a player and note some of his best achievements on the box. On both heels marks a 25th anniversary logo with the date 1980 – 2015 above, and on the outside of the heels includes his name Lothar Matthaüs and underneath the pair number out of 25. Mine was 22. My favourite thing about this special pair is the golden fold over tongue that when lifted up reads the same statistics that is printed on the box; 1 World Cup winner, 5 World Cup tournaments and 25 World Cup goals.

I can’t fault the boots at all and the presentation of them was very nice, they came in a Perspex box with a foam fitting that was shaped to fit both boots, then the pullover box was gold on the inside and white on the outside with a little window on the front allowing you to see his name on the heel and the number issued out of 25. A really nice touch.

image6

The bonus things for me about these boots is the fact that I have a certificate of authentication signed by him with my pair number marked on it as well as the event title ‘Meet Matthaüs’ and then he hand signed one of my boots above his name on the heel, it was a really nice touch that made this one of a kind boots every more special.

There are only 25 pairs produced of these boots, all of which were given out to lucky people selected to attend the event and I was one of them. Thank you Puma, thank you Pro Direct.

Keep an eye out for other great boots from Cameron’s Instagram page!

PUMA Unveil Next Era of Duality Boots | evoPOWER and evoSPEED

PUMA Launched the new H2H Duality evoSPEED Football Boots in Orange and Blue_2

PUMA Unveil Next Era of Duality Boots | evoPOWER and evoSPEED.

PUMA today launched the latest iteration of its eye-catching Duality boots, continuing the theme of two distinct coloured boots in one pair, which PUMA were the first to introduce.

The Head To Head Duality colourway is applied to PUMA’s two football boot families, evoPOWER and evoSPEED. A selection of high profile players will wear one orange and one blue boot in up to three competitive club matches, representing either team evoSPEED or evoPOWER, which PUMA is now pitching against each other for a special competition.

PUMA Launched the new H2H Duality Football Boots in Orange and Blue_2

PUMA is challenging the players of each boot family to go ‘Head To Head’ and outperform the other. A scoring system counts in game action such as goals, assists and completed passes of all the participating footballers, to determine which team is more successful. Cesc Fàbregas, Mario Balotelli and Olivier Giroud are three members of the wider evoPOWER team which will compete against stars such as Sergio Agüero, Marco Reus and Antoine Griezmann of the evoSPEED crew.

Sergio Agüero, star striker of Manchester City FC and captain of the PUMA evoSPEED team said about the challenge, “There is no way we will lose against the evoPOWER team. Our team includes sensational players such as Falcao, Reus, Verratti and many more. And me of course. (Laughs) Seriously speaking, I will try my best and hope I will score some goals for my team.”

Cesc Fàbregas, leader of the evoPOWER team commented, “evoPOWER players use the boot to help their accurate and powerful style of play, and we hope to live up to this reputation. Maybe we won’t score the most goals, but I am sure that with players like Yaya Touré, we will gain many points through completed passes and some beautiful assists. I am up for the challenge!”

The new Head To Head Duality boots further enforce PUMA’s ownership of the two-differently-coloured-boots concept, which was first introduced for the World Cup in 2014, and further established through a special edition Arsenal FC boot, and various personal player executions at the end of 2014 and earlier this year.

Selected retailers have the Head To Head Duality colourway available from now for both evoSPEED and evoPOWER.
