Adidas | Chance To Design The Third Jersey For Some Of The World’s Biggest Football Clubs



adidas has today launched an initiative giving football fans around the world a unique Chance To Design The Third Jersey For Some Of The World’s Biggest Football Clubs.

Called the Creator Studio, the digital platform will give fans the chance to be responsible for the third shirts that will be worn by some of the best players in the world at Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo.

Fans will be able to upload and share their design online with their community through the Creator Studio, and use it as a platform to campaign for votes. Once the designs have been submitted the kits will enter Battle Mode, where fans will be given the chance to vote for their favourite kit. The kits with the most likes will be entered into a top 100 gallery per club.

The winning shirt for each team will be decided by a judging panel of some of the clubs’ most iconic players, with the winning kits going into production as the official third jersey to be worn on pitch by each team during the 2017/18 season.

Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale, said of the Creator Studio: “It’s an amazing opportunity for fans from all over the world to make their mark on their favourite club, and to be a part of the club’s history. Madrid fans are some of the most passionate in the world and I’m particularly excited to see what the club’s winning kit design looks like.”

This is the first time that adidas has put the design of its clubs’ kits into the hands of fans, providing supporters and aspiring designers with an opportunity to be a part of sporting history.

Markus Baumann, General Manager Football at adidas said: “We are giving people a blank canvas and allowing them to create something exciting and unique. The Creator Studio is an opportunity for fans to become part of the history of some of the biggest global clubs; it’s a true first. We hope the idea of seeing their design on field next year, being worn by the players and by fans around the world, will fuel imagination and creativity.”

The Creator Studio is a mobile-optimised experience, allowing fans to submit designs on the go as well as from desktop computers. The digital experience allows creators to design the jersey of each club but excludes the shorts or socks.

adidas has today launched a unique Juventus film starring Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, Alex Sandro, Giorgio Chiellinin and other members of the squad, as part of its new First Never Follows film series.



The series – featuring bespoke films of some of the biggest clubs, players and managers in the world – provides a defiant response from a series of star players to the feverous gossip, debate and hype that surrounds each club in the build-up to the start of the 2016/17 season.

The film features an opposition fan – wearing a jacket with ‘ANTI JUVE’ on the back and an owl which is considered bad luck in Italy – imploring Juventus to lose and reacting angrily when the club scores. During the film, the players use the fan’s negativity to buoy their own performances, and demonstrate the on-pitch craftsmanship that shows they’re ready to take on succeed again in the 2016/17 season.

The film launches the new Juventus third kit which the team will be wearing for the coming season. The adidas three stripes have been moved from the sleeves to the side of the jersey. The sleeves feature a striking zebra pattern, a reference to the club’s nickname ‘Le Zebre’. As an eye-catching contrast to the home kit for 2016/17 which is predominantly black, the third kit is primarily white.

The players in the film also debut the new Speed of Light boots – the ACE 16+ PURECONTROL in Solar Yellow and X16+ PURECHAOS in Solar Red – which will be worn on pitch for the start of the 2016/17 season.

Drawing inspiration from the club’s own tradition, the new away kit was designed to emphasize the tight bond between Juventus and Italy and to recall the blue jersey worn during the UEFA Champions League in 95/96 season. Hence the idea of the blue colour for the away jersey with a reinterpretation of an all-time classic in a most innovative way.

The away jersey 2016/17 comes with a two-toned blue design creating a dynamic effect which recalls the home jersey’s design.

A crew-neck model, the new away jersey features the adidas white logo on the right and the Juventus crest with three gold stars on the left. The iconic three stripes on the shoulders are white. The collar and the sleeve cuffs are black and white.

To complete the kit: white shorts with the adidas logo in blue and blue socks with white details.

The new away kit will be worn for the first time in one of the pre-season friendly match, during the Australian summer tour.

The new Authentic kit will allow players to be faster and more comfortable on the field. It is made using a lightweight fabric which increases breathability by providing greater freedom of movement and comfort without sacrificing flexibility and resilience.


The replica jerseys, on the other hand, feature the climacool ventilation technology designed to help keep your body cool and dry through holes, breathable materials, fabrics and special stitchings.


These jerseys are made of recycled polyester, which has a lower impact on the environment as it reduces emissions, and therefore plays a key role in the adidas program to protect the environment and promote sustainability.


The new kit will be on sale from today in all adidas and Juventus official stores, in the main sport retailers and through the adidas and Juventus e-commerce channels worldwide.

adidas Gamedayplus launches its latest episode of GD+ with visits to the San Siro and Munich as current Italian champions Juventus and German champions FC Bayern Munich prepare for their eagerly anticipated UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg tie.

The episode starts with a visit to the San Siro, meeting up with Alvaro Morata and Juan Cuadrado to play some FIFA and hear their thoughts around their upcoming game against FC Bayern Munich. The boys discuss: how to take a penalty against Manuel Neuer, being clinical with their chances and the importance and pressures around the game.



As the episode moves into the second half we see GD+ take a helicopter ride with David Alaba, showing great views of the Allianz Arena and training grounds. David speaks around his special feelings of playing at the Allianz for the first time and the importance of his youth football adjacent to the stadium.

adidas | Episode 4 of Gamedayplus sees appearances from Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, Brazilian striker Jonas (scorer of the fifth fastest goal in UEFA Champions League history) and Juventus forward Alvaro Morata.




Episode 4 is all about speed. The first part focuses on Theo Walcott; who shows Gamedayplus how to beat the offside trap and score at lightning speed, before Brazilian striker Jonas, scorer of the fifth fastest goal in UEFA Champions League history, meets Wilson Benedito at Benfica’s stadium Estadio da Luz. Finally, Juventus forward Alvaro Morata shows he doesn’t just bring the heat on the pitch as he pranks Roman Kemp by making him a pizza laced with chillies.

Adidas is set to officially reveal the third kits for six of the leading dynasties in European football: Manchester United, Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich, Chelsea FC, Juventus and AC Milan at the #BETHEDIFFERENCE World Final in Marseille.

The six European giants will each bring two of their top players to reveal their new ‘spark in the night’ third kits. All the kits incorporate unique references to the heritage, fans and cities of these great clubs, who between them have won an incredible 28 UEFA Champions League trophies.
