Episode 4 Backed By Messi | Winning Is The Only Option
Stars of the future explain why Winning Is The Only Option In Episode 4 Of Backed By Messi
adidas launched ‘The Win’, the latest episode in Backed by Messi – a video series following the journey of ten young stars chosen to join Team Messi and to wear the adidas Messi 15 boot.
The episode kicks off with Messi discussing what it means to be one of the most decorated sports stars on the planet. Messi reveals the importance of setting goals, and that no matter what he has won the season before, he is just as hungry to retain the trophies the next season.
adidas catches up with Backed by Messi stars Jeremie Boga, Accursio Bentivegna, Aleksey Miranchuk, Robert Kenedy, Rony Lopes and James Wilson to find out what inspires them to want to win every week.
Robert Kenedy explains the importance of having a strong mentality to perform at the highest level and the measures he takes to achieve his goals. Marcos Lopes discusses how he dedicates time to training at home and in the gym in order to maximise his performance on the pitch and Aleksey Miranchuk tells adidas how he aims for victory with everything he does – whether it’s on the field or on the PlayStation.
We get a look at the stars unleashing their competitive spirit playing EA SPORTS FIFA 16, with Kenedy claiming that he is “the king of FIFA”, and that an unnamed Chelsea rookie is his favourite victim on the game.
The latest episode of Backed by Messi also shows the stars training at their clubs in the brand new green and black colourway of Messi’s signature boot, the Messi 15. As well as going through their paces in fitness drills, we see the young players practicing their skills with a tennis ball, scoring direct from corners, and with an incredible Kenedy trick shot.
The ten players recruited to Team Messi are:
Robert Kenedy (Chelsea FC, Brazilian)
Maxwel Cornet (Lyon, French)
Jeremie Boga (Rennes [on loan from Chelsea FC], French)
Accursio Bentivegna (Como [on loan from Palermo], Italian)

Aleksey Miranchuk (Lokomotiv Moscow, Russian)
Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy, American)
